The GEO Group Foundation was one of the main sponsors for The Place of Hope Walk. More than 500 walkers joined Place of Hope in “Taking Steps For Their Future” on Nov. 5 at Carlin Park, located in Jupiter. The walk raised operating revenues for foster children in Place of Hope’s care. The walk featured a pre-walk warm up by North Palm Beach Adventure Boot Camp then a two-mile journey through the life of a child in foster care. The walk was followed by activities that included bounce houses, face painting, a hope market, pancakes from IHOP, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Special Units, special performances by Keep Flippin’ and more. more

GEO has been a proud sponsor of the Step up for Students Scholarship since 2004. With GEO's support, nearly 25,000 low-income students in Florida have benefitted from this K-12 scholarship.
The program provides Tax Credit Scholarships to students in K-12 who come from low-income families. These scholarships allow the students to consider a private school or an out-of-district public school that may better suit their individual needs, an option which already is available to families of greater financial means. more
On May 20th, the Bridgeport Correctional Center (Center) received reaccreditation by American Correctional Association (ACA). After a 3 day audit, the facility was found to be in 100% compliance with all 425 applicable standards for reaccreditation. The Center was first accredited by ACA in 1991 and has been received a 100% compliance rating for the past six consecutive audits. more
