Secure Detainee Transportation
In 2008, GEO established our in-house transportation division, GEO Transport, Inc., in order to meet our clients’ increasing needs for secure transportation services for their offender and detainee populations. Since inception, GTI has transported over 200,000 prisoners and detainees through both mass ground and air movements without incident.
- GTI is an authorized U.S. Department of Transportation regulated motor carrier; as of November 7, 2007.
- Conducts secure transportation operations which are co-located with detention facilities operated by GEO,
supporting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service. The service area around
the detentionfacilities generally extends to a maximum 300 mile radius. - Operates within the strict regulatory compliance established by law and various federal and state agencies to include
the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and customer secure
transportation standards. - Successfully completed and passed every DOT compliance inspection as well as federal and state fire arms
inspections. - Operates a variety special secure transport vehicle designed to meet the needs of the client at the most efficient and
effective rate possible. - Every vehicle is equipped with a real time GPS tracking and recording system that add for additional security. The GPS tracking system can be monitored from the local operating center and corporate headquarters as required.
- Every vehicle is equipped with on-board cameras and recording equipment to provide additional security and safety
for the officers and the detainees/prisoners being transported. - Operates over 125 special secure, DOT compliant vehicles in 15 states.
