Brooks County Detention Center is a 652-bed, multi-use facility. LCS Corrections Services, Inc., previous owner of the facility, financed, designed and built the facility in 2001. Following GEO’s conversion to a real estate investment trust (REIT), the company’s Corrections and Detention operating division was formally organized as an LLC and continues to provide the operational services for GEO facilities.
The Center provides medical observation rooms, housing buildings, a new kitchen and a dining building, and a maintenance shop.
The Brooks County Detention Center achieved initial accreditation through the American Correctional Association in 2017 with a score of 99.65%.
