Through regular meetings and discussions, webcasts and conference calls, as well as a steady flow of information provided in our reports, newsletters, and posted on our website, we strive to educate our stakeholders on our operations, governance practices, the regulatory environment in which we operate, and our overall commitment to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and respecting the human rights of all those in our care.
At the same time, we have been active participants in ongoing dialogues with many of our stakeholders and carefully consider their input and feedback as being critical to our focus on achieving operational excellence, having a positive impact on individuals and our society, and meeting the standards for
excellence in corporate citizenship.
We establish community advisory boards at all of our Secure Services facilities and a majority of our GEO Care locations, made up of representatives from local government, law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, local citizens, and others. These advisory boards meet on a regular basis to provide input on our operations and maintain strong local ties in our communities.
An area of emphasis for GEO involves working with key stakeholders to help the company understand different strategies of achieving human rights goals/assessing human rights topics in our U.S. Secure Services facilities, processing centers and community reentry programs.
Major Wright and the Wright Way Foundation: Strong community partnerships are essential to the success of GEO’s Continuum of Care. One such partnership is with Major Wright and The Wright Way Foundation, a collaboration rooted in character development, leadership, and the belief that consistent positive actions can transform individuals, families, and communities.
Major Wright, former NFL player and respected community leader, brings authenticity, lived experience, and credibility to justice involved populations. Through The Wright Way Foundation, Major Wright delivers programming that emphasizes personal responsibility, service, integrity, and intentional parenting values that align directly with GEO’s rehabilitative mission.
Good Deed Tuesday: Small Actions, Lasting Impact: At the heart of this partnership is Good Deed Tuesday, a national initiative founded by Major Wright that challenges individuals to practice intentional acts of kindness, service, and accountability in their daily lives. Within GEO facilities, Good Deed Tuesday serves as a powerful character-building framework that reinforces pro-social behavior and personal responsibility.
GEO’s Corporate Office got together to build Blanket & Bear Hug Packages for Child Rescue Coalition. These packages will be distributed to law enforcement across the globe to give to children who are victims of sexual abuse.
East Hidalgo Detention Center (EHDC) collaborated with local schools to assist children in need and Driscoll Children's Hospital for their Annual Toy Drive. The EHDC team set up an Angel Tree, which contained more than 30 tags of children requesting their Christmas wishes. The tree was decorated and brought smiles, hope and excitement to staff as they picked their Christmas Angel. Employees brought their wrapped presents, each containing items from their Angel's personalized wish list. Together, we provided the children with clothes, coats, shoes, and toys. In addition, Driscoll Children's Hospital provided a list of needs for all age groups in which EHDC staff referred to for Christmas shopping. We were able to deliver boxes full of new toys for children who were spending the holiday season away from home. Our efforts did not just bring significant joy to the children, but also everyone on our team that assisted in the execution of the Christmas Spirit in our communities. We look forward to making this an annual EHDC Christmas tradition.
Staff at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center (MVPC) recently showcased their commitment to service by coming together to prepare and deliver 500 meals to local shut-ins throughout Clearfield County.
Through months of employee-led fundraising efforts—including dress-down Fridays, raffles, basket drawings, and other initiatives—team members raised the necessary funds to purchase ingredients, prepare homemade meals, and personally deliver them to individuals in need across the community.
In partnership with the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, MVPC staff identified seniors and homebound residents who could benefit from a warm meal and a friendly visit. Staff volunteers dedicated their time to cooking, packaging, and coordinating deliveries, ensuring that each recipient received not only food but also a reminder that their community cares.
“This effort truly reflects the heart of our staff,” said a team member. “Our team continually looks for ways to give back, and this project allows us to support some of our most vulnerable neighbors. It’s about more than a meal—it’s about connection, compassion, and service.”
Dozens of employees volunteered their personal time to make the event possible, working together to prepare hundreds of meals and traveling throughout the county to deliver them directly to residents’ homes. For many recipients, the visit provided both nourishment and meaningful human interaction during the holiday season.
This annual outreach initiative has become a tradition for MVPC, reinforcing the facility’s commitment to community partnership and public service. By collaborating with the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, the team continues to make a positive impact beyond their daily responsibilities. Through teamwork, generosity, and dedication, MVPC staff once again demonstrated that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference—one meal at a time.
The Karnes County Detention Facility recently marked a milestone of community service through its long-standing partnership with the Toys for Karnes County Tots program. This annual drive, which celebrated its 25th year of service, provides toys and food gift cards to hundreds of local families. Starting in 2000 with 185 children and 80 families, the number of children served has grown significantly. In the most recent season, the program served over 550 children and more than 200 families throughout the county. For 25 years, this partnership with the Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department has brightened many Christmas mornings. For decades to come, it will continue to light up hearts.
The Western Region Detention Facility (WRDF) proudly partnered with Ronald McDonald House San Diego to bring joy and comfort to families in need. WRDF organized a successful toy drive for children staying at the House and provided a warm, hearty meal for nearly 200 guests and visitors.
WRDF also made a $500 donation through The GEO Group Foundation to support the organization’s ongoing mission of providing care and resources to families with hospitalized children. This financial contribution further underscored WRDF’s dedication to giving back to the community and strengthening its partnership with Ronald McDonald House San Diego.
GEO staff were given a tour of the recently renovated facility Ronald McDonald House facility, which now features a family-friendly lounge for watching Padres games, a classroom for educational activities, and a vibrant playground for children. Following the tour, WRDF employees collaborated with Ronald McDonald House staff to prepare and serve dinner, creating a memorable evening for everyone involved.
The toy drive, dinner service, and charitable donation were a resounding success, and WRDF looks forward to continuing this meaningful and impactful partnership with Ronald McDonald House San Diego in the future.
The Special Olympic Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) was recently held in Eagle Pass, Texas. Various local law enforcement agencies participated in the event, which featured a 5-mile, 3-mile, and 2-mile distance trail. The mission of LETR for Special Olympics is to increase awareness and raise funds for the Special Olympics movement. The Torch Run is more than just a race; it represents a unified effort from all law enforcement agencies to come together and support the Special Olympics games in South Texas. This year’s event began with a 5-mile run and concluded with a special 3-lap run during the opening ceremony of the Eagle Pass Independent School District Special Olympic Games. As always, our facility was one of the largest agencies participating, with our team consisting of the facility's Correctional Emergency Response Team, administration, and transport staff. Following the run, the games commenced, and LETR participants had the opportunity to volunteer and cheer on the athletes as they competed. This was our third consecutive year participating in the Torch Run, and our team took pride in representing our facility. We look forward to next year’s event.
In prisons across Florida, The Jack Brewer Foundation (JBF) began 2025 by celebrating the transformative journeys of incarcerated men in its Faith & Fatherhood in-custody programs. Through a series of heartfelt certificate ceremonies, men in 16 facilities across the state who have dedicated themselves to achieving successful rehabilitation and becoming better fathers were recognized for their completion of the JBF Self-Governing Principle course on Morality—a key component of fatherhood. Providing these men with a deeper understanding of this principle, this course delves into essential moral values that are vital not only for rehabilitation but also for becoming responsible fathers and productive members of society. These meaningful ceremonies were held throughout the month of February, with 951 certificates awarded.
210 of these certificates were awarded to JBF program participants in GEO Group’s South Bay Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility, located in South Bay, Florida. During this celebration, these fathers were recognized for their hard work and completion of the course. Prior to the certificate distribution, a Fatherhood Fellowship event was held, fostering heartfelt conversations and meaningful engagement among participants, the JBF in-custody team, and Chairman Jack Brewer. After the event, Chairman Brewer shared, “To see our GEO fathers commit themselves to repairing their broken families is truly incredible. Our fathers have committed their lives to learning our Fatherhood Principles. Many of our fathers have lived a life of family failure and now they are celebrating much deserved family successes.”
For many participants, these certificates represent more than just the completion of a course—they symbolize personal growth, commitment to change, and the first steps toward a brighter future for themselves and their children. By focusing on character development and moral values, JBF is helping incarcerated men unlock their potential to become the fathers, leaders, and role models their families and communities need.
The Black History Showcase at Riverbend Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility (RCRF) was a vibrant celebration of culture and talent, featuring inspiring speeches, artists, and performances by gifted individuals. This event not only honored the contributions of Black individuals throughout history but also fostered a sense of community and pride among attendees.
A significant operational milestone for this year’s showcase was the collaboration with The Man-Up International Alliance, which enabled a more empowering lineup of speakers, artists, and performers. This partnership not only enhanced the quality of the event but also strengthened ties with the community, emphasizing the importance of unity and purpose.
The showcase included powerful speeches that highlighted the struggles and triumphs of Black history, as well as performances that captivated the audience, ranging from spoken word and testimonies to visual arts. Each segment of the program served to engage, reflect, celebrate, and inspire, reminding everyone of the rich heritage that continues to shape the world around us.
As RCRF looks forward to future events, the success of this year’s Black History Showcase serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and the significance of celebrating our diverse histories.
