On June 15, 2017, The GEO Group’s Eastern Regional Office held the 4th Annual St. Jude Classic Golf Tournament at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Blake Davis, Regional Vice President, gathered with facility and regional staff from the Eastern Region, along with supportive vendor/partners, to raise substantial funds for children’s cancer research and the charity of St. Jude. During the event, the financial goal of raising over 200k was exceeded and a check for $205,755 was presented to St. Jude. The Eastern Region has raised a total of $638,000 in the past four years for this worthwhile charity.
At the welcome reception, the guests had an opportunity to hear from a St. Jude family. They shared their story and told of how St. Jude helped their family during a very difficult time. Thanks to the research and advances St. Jude has made, their son was one of the lucky ones and is on the road to recovery.
The Eastern Region looks forward to many more years of raising money for this fantastic charity with a goal of raising one million dollars by year eight of the event.
