El Centro Detention Facility Receives Appreciation Plaque from Imperial Valley College

During a formal ceremony held on December 10, 2025, at Imperial Valley College (IVC), the El Centro Detention Facility (ECDF) was officially recognized for its outstanding commitment to the community. The college presented ECDF with the EOPS CARE Appreciation Plaque, an honor reserved for partners who demonstrate exceptional support for economically disadvantaged single-parent students and their families. This recognition follows ECDF’s significant participation in the IVC CARE Angel Tree Program. This annual initiative collaborates with local businesses and facilities to "adopt" students' children, providing essential needs, clothing, and holiday toys. A special thank you goes out to Jovanna Perdomo, ECDF’s Grievance Coordinator, for her coordination of this event for the Facility as well as to the volunteers whose collective generosity transformed the holiday season for local families. We express our deepest gratitude to every staff member at ECDF who adopted an angel and volunteered their time for the gift distribution event. Your generosity and selflessness have truly made a difference in the holiday season for local families. By providing these gifts, you are not just fulfilling a wish list; you are serving as a beacon of support for our community.
