Joshua McCray, a Senior Transportation Officer at the Aurora ICE Processing Center, has proved himself as a leader and an exemplary employee. He is trusted by the Transportation Manager and Facility Administrator to go above and beyond. Mr. McCray is a planner and an organizer for third shift GTI operations along with assisting in training and certifying all facility staff in firearms. Recently, he was the first to respond to a red code (fire) and extinguished it, preventing any damage and property loss.
His leadership began when he was selected as Senior Transport Officer, and volunteered to become a facility firearms instructor. Always wanting to learn and take on new projects, Mr. McCray has learned the Key Control System and now helps with key accountability reports and how to navigate system.
In his current role as a GTI Senior Transport Officer and GEO/GTI Firearm instructor, Mr. McCray works with the Facility Training Administrator and Transportation Manager to ensure all Correctional Officers and Drivers are trained and firearm certified.
Mr. McCray has both the ability and the drive to learn and understand as much as possible as he wants to ensure that the Aurora Team is successful in their daily assignments.
He is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism in all aspects of his work. He works tirelessly to help in any way possible to ensure all client requests are met; and he maintains a rapport with all facility administrative staff, and clients that represents GEO’s commitment to operational excellence.
