Junee will start their festive season with a bang on Sunday, November 28 with Christmas on Broadway.
The celebration is a combination of the Combined Church carols and the Junee Rotary Revels.
Starting from 2pm there’s market stalls, entertainment and the revels with their chocolate wheel, live entertainment and the Fusion Street Party will return.
Santa Claus himself will make an appearance at with some treats for the children.
After the revels wraps up the carols will begin and continue into the evening.
Santa will then light the Christmas Tree on Broadway.
The event which is co-ordinated by the Junee Business and Trades is being supported by local businesses and the GEO Group who are contributing to the event’s running costs.
JBT president Tony Butt said that support made it a free event for the community.
“The business people in Broadway have allowed us to close Broadway off again to keep the precinct safe for the kids to run around,” he said.
“Junee Pony club will be there to give the kids pony rides.
“The Athenium will be open with displays of all the schools colouring in competitions, a slide show of things around town, and stage performances both in the Athenium and Carols on the main stage.”
Many of the street’s shops will remain open for the event.
Mr Butt said as well as the amusements, Webb’s ‘servo’, House 2 Home would be open while Pizza On Main and the Railway Cafe would operate in the street.
“The market stalls will just about cater for everyone from children’s clothes, jewellery, soaps, candles, wine tasting, cheese making kits, cakes and biscuits, herbs and spices, toys, cards and stationary, garden sculptures, linen and homewares, giftware and more,” Mr Butt said.
“So come along and make it an afternoon and evening of fun and games, or sit on the lawn with a drink and be entertained.
“Catch up with your friends and neighbours, win a ham on the chocolate wheel and enjoy all the things that Christmas on Broadway has to offer.”
